In 2017 Sandra spearheaded a grassroots movement to have comedy recognized as an art form and formed The Canadian Association of Stand-up Comedians (CASC). It began with the frustration many stand-up comedians experience when trying to work across Canada, as well as internationally. So she along with a small group of comedians began to lobby the government. Their work has culminated in CASC joining Unifor as a community chapter.
